CWEEL HOLDS FIRST MEETING IN THE MIDDLE EAST – JORDAN

The Association of Energy Engineers, Assistant Director for International Membership Development for the Middle East, Samer Zawaydeh, organized a meeting for leading successful Jordanian women in the energy and environment field to meeting with the AEE CWEEL Ms. Kathleen O’Dell, AEE CWEEL interface Committee Regional Representatives to the International Regions.

Ms O’Dell gave a brief about CWEEL activities in the USA and how they are reach out to the international community. The audience shared their successful stories throughout their professional and how they met the demands of their jobs and achieved their goals. “Never Say No” to opportunity was one of the key messages because they are rare at this stage, due to high unemployment in the workforce. Topics included challenges in working in the public and private sectors, energy awareness, women’s rights, education, community service, training, youth empowerment, energy, environment, cultural behavior, training women to be AEE Certified Trainers for new courses, and collaboration with CWEEL.

The event was sponsored by the USAID ESCB program in partnership with Deloitte Consulting LLP. This four years project will promote energy efficiency in Jordan.
